Technique of the Month

Pencak Silat

1.

On the left, Randy (the attacker) throws a jab punch at Sam. Sam parries to the inside.
2.

Sam then checks Randy's attacking limb with the same side arm.
3.

Sam delivers a forearm strike to the side of Randy's neck.
4.

Sam then grabs behind Randy's neck and begins to pull his head down.
5.

Sam then delivers a knee strike to Randy's midsection.
6.

Sam continues to turn Randy into a takedown. This one is known as "Puter Kapala".
7.

Sam then delivers a downward elbow strike to Randy as he is falling.
8.

In this position, Randy is very vulnerable to any type of strike that Sam might choose! He selects a forearm strike to the side of Randy's head.
